Militants Found Using Made-in-China Arms & Gadgets in J&K Terrorism

Chinese arms and high-tech devices are surfacing in J&K terror operations, exposing Beijing’s indirect role in strengthening Pakistan-backed groups.

The face of terrorism in J&K is changing quickly. Security forces are no longer fighting small groups with outdated guns. They are now confronting terrorists carrying Chinese weapons, GPS systems, and encrypted communication devices.

These recoveries show a dangerous trend. Weapons and technology that China supplies to Pakistan are ending up with militants in Kashmir. This quiet but steady flow has added a new and troubling layer to the conflict.

Chinese Weapons in Terror Hands

Recent encounters have revealed a worrying pattern. Most of the arms and ammunition recovered in 2025 trace back to China. Pistols, grenades, and assault rifles are among the items found. In Bandipora, for example, security forces arrested two Lashkar-e-Taiba associates carrying Chinese-made hand grenades.

Similar seizures have been reported in different districts of the Valley, suggesting a clear supply chain. These are not stray incidents but signs of growing dependence on Chinese arms.

Technology Boosts Terror Networks

Equally troubling is the role of Chinese-made gadgets. During the Pahalgam terror attack, militants used Huawei satellite phones, GPS devices, and encrypted UltraSet systems.

These gave them better coordination and helped them avoid detection. Security forces had earlier recovered the same type of equipment, confirming that terrorists are using these devices regularly and not just once in a while.

Pakistan’s Army Tool in Terror Use

One device stands out above the rest — the UltraSet. It was originally meant for the Pakistan Army but is now being found with militants in Kashmir. Unlike normal mobile phones, UltraSets work on radio waves and connect to control stations across the border.

Experts say Chinese satellites carry compressed messages from these devices to servers in Pakistan, making the line almost impossible to track. For terrorists, this means safer and more secret communication.

Beijing’s Strategic Angle

This is not just about smuggling weapons, instead, it points to China’s larger strategy in the region, and by supplying Pakistan with modern arms and high-tech gear, Beijing boosts Islamabad’s military capacity.

Eventually, this support slips into the hands of terror groups in Kashmir. For India, this creates a two-layer challenge — direct tensions with China on the border and indirect pressure through terrorism.

China’s Role in Arming Terror

Each recovery of Chinese-made weapons and technology in Kashmir tells the same story. Terror groups are no longer just using Pakistan’s resources, they now carry the stamp of Beijing’s involvement.

The use of advanced arms and secure communication has raised the threat level for Indian forces. For India, the fight is not only against militants but also against a hidden network powered by China’s long-term ambitions.
