The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) plans to unveil a bumper lottery for 10,000 homes/flats this October. The distribution comprises 5,000 homes in Pune, 4,000 flats in the Konkan region, and 600 flats under the Aurangabad board. Notifications regarding this will be issued in the last week of August.
A lottery draw for 4,000 homes in Mumbai took place in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on 14th August. During this event, the chief minister announced upcoming lotteries for homes in Pune, Konkan, and the Aurangabad Board. The Konkan board encompasses areas such as Thane, Virar, and Dombivali, where blueprints for approximately 4,500 homes are already in place. The Pune board region, which covers Pimpri, Talegaon, and Saswad, will have 5,000 homes available. Lastly, the Aurangabad Board, covering Ambajogai, Latur, and Hingoli, will hold a lottery for 600 flats. Sources speaking to TDG revealed that the lotteries for the Konkan and Aurangabad boards will utilise a computerised system. In contrast, the Pune board lottery will follow a first-come-first-served basis. MHADA considers this initiative as a special gift to the residents of these regions, allowing many to realise their dreams of home ownership during the Dussehra festive season. BJP leader Atul Save, the current Minister of Housing, along with Sanjeev Jaiswal IAS, the Vice President of the Authority, believe that this initiative is a gesture to the people of Maharashtra, offering them quality homes at affordable and competitive prices.
