Metro services in Delhi will commence at 2:30 pm on Holi

On the occasion of Holi, Delhi Metro services on March 25 (Monday) will begin at 2:30 pm as per the announcement by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

DMRC stated, “On the day of the ‘Holi festival, i.e. 25th March, 2024 (Monday), Metro services will NOT be available till 2:30 PM on all Lines of the Delhi Metro including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line.” They further added, “Metro train services will thus start at 2:30 pm from terminal stations on all Lines on 25th March and will continue normally thereafter.”

Additionally, DMRC mentioned that passengers facing encroachment or parking issues by auto/e-rickshaw drivers can seek immediate assistance by contacting station authorities or dialing their 24*7 IVRS helpline 155370.

“Auto/e-rickshaw drivers and other encroachers are regularly removed from the station premises by the station staff and security staff. Moreover, the mentioned area does not come under the purview of DMRC,” DMRC stated.

Holi, celebrated this year on March 25, is a festival preceded by the ritual of Holika Dahan, symbolizing the burning of the demon Holika. It is a time when traditional sweets are shared, promoting a sense of harmony and unity among people, with celebrants embracing the spirit of joy and love.

Noteworthy pilgrimage sites such as Vrindavan, Mathura, and Barsana attract numerous revelers on this day, where people smear each other with colors.

Dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is believed to have spent considerable time in the Braj region of Uttar Pradesh, Holi not only reflects the festive spirit but also symbolizes the timeless love of Radha and Krishna.
