Budgam, March 04: In a bid to promote voter awareness and engagement, an enthralling Mehndi art competition was organized today by the Electoral Literacy Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Khansahib as part of the ongoing Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign.
The competition aimed to instill democratic values among newly eligible voters, with participants showcasing their artistic talents through intricate Mehndi designs. Alongside aesthetics, the designs carried powerful themes such as “Mera Phala Vote-Desh Ke Liye” (My First Vote for the Nation), “My Vote – My Choice,” and “Vote for a Better India.”
Female students, particularly NSS volunteers, enthusiastically participated in the competition, demonstrating their commitment to exercising their voting rights without any bias or influence.
Dr. Nargis Bano, the Principal of GDC Khansahib, and Dr. Sajad Padder, NSS Programme Officer and ELC Officer, commended the students’ fervor and dedication to upholding democratic values and traditions. They emphasized the significance of such initiatives in fostering a culture of informed and active citizenship among the youth.
The Mehndi art competition served as a creative platform to deepen understanding and engagement with the electoral process, reinforcing the importance of every individual’s contribution to shaping the future of the nation through responsible voting.
