Medchal Shocker: Students Protest Over Hidden Camera Recording 300 Obscene Videos in Girls Hostel

Protests broke out at CMR Engineering College in Medchal on Wednesday following allegations that hidden cameras had been used to secretly record videos of female students in the hostel washroom. Students claim that approximately 300 videos were recorded over the past three months, with suspicions falling on hostel workers, especially kitchen staff. The issue came to light when students became suspicious of unauthorized recordings in the washroom. Outraged, they gathered outside the college to demand justice and accountability.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) also joined the protests, calling for a thorough investigation and strict punishment for the perpetrators. Medchal police intervened to manage the situation and assured students that a comprehensive inquiry would take place. Authorities vowed to take strict action against those responsible. Meanwhile, students have called for better hostel security to prevent future privacy violations.

The college management has yet to release a statement, further heightening tensions. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the incident and identify the culprits. Earlier in August 2024, similar protests occurred at SR Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, after a hidden camera was allegedly discovered in the girls’ hostel washroom, with videos circulating among male students in the boys’ hostel. A final-year engineering student was arrested in connection with that incident.
