MCD polls: Uttarakhand CM calls out AAP on corruption; says “Delhi will vote for BJP”

Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on Sunday called out Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and said that Delhi will vote for the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in the upcoming MCD Polls in the national capital.

In the approaching elections for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in the nation’s capital, CM Dhami professed confidence in the BJP’s triumph and asserted that the party will garner a majority of votes since voters had witnessed the party’s and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s achievements.

“People have seen the work of Narendra Modi and the BJP. Delhi is also observing how the party which promised to uproot corruption has been establishing it. The videos of their ministers are out regularly,” CM Dhami said.

Dhami attacked the AAP by bringing up the most recent videos of its health minister Satyendar Jain, whose alleged CCTV footage from the Tihar jail appeared to show him receiving housekeeping services in his cell.

According to the sources, the purported video that surfaced on Sunday morning was dated September 13, 15, and 1. In it, men can be seen cleaning the jail cell’s floor and setting the minister’s bed. Jain was seen interacting with other people inside his prison cell in the images from September 12th.

On November 19, the first alleged visuals surfaced and showed Jain receiving a full-body massage. On November 23, a day after Jain’s attorney stated in the trial court that the minister had dropped 28 kgs of weight while in detention, the second alleged video surfaced. Jain was seen in the video eating a substantial and elaborate supper. Surprisingly, sources claimed that the minister had really put on 8 kg of weight.

Ajit Kumar, the jail superintendent who is currently on administrative leave, was seen speaking with the minister in the third alleged video that surfaced on November 26.

On Saturday, Shehzad Poonawalla, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) national spokesperson slammed AAP over the November 26 video and termed it as “AAP ka darbar of Bhrashtachar”.

Further, Dhami in his conversation mentioned the recently disclosed Rs. 1,300 crore scam in Delhi schools.

The Arvind Kejriwal administration’s “grave irregularities and corruption” in the building of 2,405 classrooms in 193 government schools in the nation’s capital were the subject of a “detailed investigation by a specialised agency,” according to the Delhi government’s Vigilance Directorate (DoV), which made the recommendation on Friday. Additionally, it suggested “fixing the responsibility of the concerned Education Department and PWD officials” who were allegedly complicit in the waste of nearly Rs 1,300 crore.

Dhami said, “People in Delhi are witnessing the disclosure of scams in the Education department and the Excise department, hence BJP will come to power in MCDs once again.”
