In a fresh move symbolising modernization, Air India has teamed up with celebrated designer Manish Malhotra to revamp uniforms for over 10,000 of its frontline employees. This collaboration, spanning cabin crew, cockpit crew, and ground staff, is a significant stride towards Air India’s new global brand identity and ongoing modernization efforts.
Designer Manish Malhotra expressed his excitement about the project, emphasising the mission to blend tradition with the future. “Our goal is to evolve without erasing, to modernise without forgetting. This partnership represents the melding of comfort with authenticity, all rooted in timeless elegance,” Malhotra remarked.
Preparatory work has already kicked off, with Malhotra’s team initiating dialogues and fitting sessions to align with the unique needs of Air India’s staff.
Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director of Air India, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration. “Teaming up with Manish Malhotra supports our ambition to showcase the best of a dynamic, bold, and forward-thinking India on the global platform. By intertwining our brand, heritage, and culture with the specific demands of the airline realm, we aim to introduce a refreshing and representative look for the new Air India,” he stated.
The airline projects a complete roll-out of the redesigned uniforms by the close of 2023.
