Man kills wife suspecting infidelity in Delhi

A 40-year-old woman was reportedly killed by her husband in Delhi’s Burari area over suspicions of extramarital relations, as stated by the police on Saturday. Authorities received a PCR call on Friday around 04:43 AM, reporting “a lady lying in a pool of blood, who has been killed” at Satya Vihar in Delhi’s Burari Police station jurisdiction.

Upon arrival at the scene, the victim was discovered with multiple facial injuries, and she was subsequently taken to Burari Govt. Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A case under Section 302 IPC (Indian Penal Code) was registered at the Burari police station.

Following a thorough investigation, it was revealed that the woman’s spouse, Kundan Shah (46), had killed her, alleging her involvement with others. During questioning, the accused admitted to his role in the murder, stating that he used a chisel on a Friday afternoon while they were alone at home, and their children were either at school or work.

Further inquiry uncovered that the accused believed his wife had been neglecting him for an extended period and was convinced of her engagement in illicit relationships, leading to his frustration and the commission of the crime.

The accused, Kundan Shah, also disclosed his previous involvement in an assault case registered at Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar Police station. The police retrieved the chisel used in the crime and the deceased’s mobile phone, which the accused had destroyed after committing the murder.
