Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court on Friday sent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s PA Bibhav Kumar to four-day judicial custody in connection with the alleged assault on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.
Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal allowed the prosecution’s plea (Delhi Police) seeking Bibhav’s judicial custody for four days.
Defence counsel Advocate Rajiv Mohan told the Daily Guardian that “We moved an application under Section 165 to provide the list of search and seized items to the magistrate.He (Bibhav Kumar) has been sent to judicial custody for four days. There is a provision in Section 165 to provide the list of all the items seized during the search. We objected under this section as the list has not been provided…”
Advocate and AAP Legal Cell head Sanjeev Nasiar also told media that , “The Delhi Police have asked for judicial custody. However, we have opposed that, This arrest is illegal. The court has sent Bibhav Kumar to the judicial custody for four days.
Bibhav, the personal assistant to Kejriwal, allegedly assaulted Maliwal at the chief minister’s official residence on May 13. Earlier He was under police custody.
The Delhi Police had arrested Kumar on May 18.
