Major Parliament Standoff: Both Houses Adjourned Early, Speaker Warns Opposition Over Protests

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the entire day following disruptions during parliamentary proceedings.

Speaker Urges MPs to Maintain House Decorum

Before adjourning the Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla appealed to the members to uphold the dignity and decorum of the House. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in the world’s largest democracy.

“Ours is the largest democracy in the world, and it fulfils the hopes and aspirations of the people. We all have to maintain the dignity of the House,” Mr. Birla remarked.

Reflecting on recent events, he expressed disappointment over the behavior observed in the House. “In the last few days, I have seen certain things happening that are not good,” he added, urging members to align their actions with the expectations of the people they represent.

The adjournment reflects ongoing tensions and disagreements within the parliamentary proceedings, with calls for cooperation and decorum remaining a central focus.
