Maharashtra: Security Tightened After Violent Clash Between Two Groups In Akola

Two groups clashed in Maharashtra’s Akola on Monday, resulting in stone pelting and the torching of several vehicles, according to police reports. The conflict was reportedly sparked by an accident between an autorickshaw and a motorcycle in the Harihar Peth area of Akola city.

“An auto driver rammed into a bike driver in the Harihar Peth area of Akola. Both of them belong to different communities. Both auto and bike were set on fire and stone pelting was done,” said Akola SP Bachan Singh.

In response to the incident, a police team arrived on the scene and managed to bring the situation under control. “Soon the police team reached the spot and controlled the situation. We are continuously conducting patrolling in the area. Strict action will be taken against those who are involved in this,” he added.

Following the clash, security has been increased in the area, with additional personnel deployed to maintain peace and prevent any further violence.
