A startling case has been reported from Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, where a 22-year-old woman was gang-raped by her former boyfriend and his friends at two different places. As per police, the incident took place early in the morning on February 20 near a school.
Victim Lured Through Brother’s Call
According to a report in The Times of India, the accused, who had been dating the survivor for some years, became jealous when she started dating another man. According to reports, he abducted her brother several days ago on the night of February 19 and made him call her to a certain location.
“The woman received a call from her brother that evening alleging he was in trouble. On reaching the spot where he told her to go, the survivor, her brother, and autorickshaw driver who had dropped her were beaten up by the accused,” an official informed PTI.
Assault at Two Places
The woman was allegedly raped by the accused and four of his friends at two locations—near a school in Nagaon and later inside a pickup van in Fatimanagar.
Survivor Escapes, Files Complaint
Following the escape, the survivor went to the Bhiwandi Police and filed a complaint. All six accused have been booked under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including rape and gangrape.
So far, the accused are still not arrested, and more investigation is being carried out.
