The Election Commission is set to announce the dates for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections today, according to sources. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Arun Goel will reveal the election schedule during a press conference scheduled for 3:30 PM.
A statement from the Election Commission confirmed that the press conference will disclose the timeline for the 2024 general elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The 288-member Maharashtra Assembly’s term ends in November 2024, while the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly’s term will conclude on January 5, 2025.
