With the approach of Mahakumbh festival, preparations are under way to ensure that millions of devotees face no untoward incidents. Inspector General of Police, Prayagraj, Tarun Gaba confirmed the 7-layer security plan in place that has been especially designed to prevent any untoward incidents during the grand religious congregation.

Speaking with ANI, Tarun Gaba highlighted how Mahakumbh 2025 is an event that accommodates the most significant gathering of humanity. We are pledged to provide immaculate and secure ground for this sacrosanct event. 7-layer security arrangement involves multi-level checking as well as scrutiny of suspiciously behaving individuals at various levels. Coordination of various state as well as central agencies forms the crux of our strategy, he added.

AI-Integrated Surveillance

Advanced technology is also being utilised in order to ensure maximum security; 2,700 AI-equipped cameras will be installed throughout the venue. These cameras will play a pivotal role in surveillance and ensuring complete security during the entire event,” Gaba added. Authorities are not leaving any stone unturned in order to provide a safe and hassle-free experience of Mahakumbh.

Heightened Vigilance Underway

On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Police launched an intensive security inspection under the leadership of Vaibhav Krishna, IPS. The campaign is focusing much on the surveillance of key locations such as Sangam Ghat, pontoon bridges, and major intersections.

DIG Krishna ordered all station in-charges to take proactive measures and increase vigilance in their jurisdictions. The agency has also made special arrangements for risk assessment and mitigation in areas that might pose a threat to the safety of pilgrims.

Ministerial Oversight on Preparations

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, did a site visit to review preparation work for the Mahakumbh. During his visit, the minister performed a puja ceremony at Triveni Ghat and reportedly said he is satisfied with ongoing preparations.

“Under the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji, I will meet with airport officials to review the facilities provided for the devotees. Our goal is to ensure a hassle-free and orderly event for all visitors,” he stated.

With state-of-the-art technology, comprehensive planning, and the involvement of multiple agencies, Mahakumbh 2025 promises to be a secure and spiritually enriching experience for attendees.
