Lotus will blossom across Rajasthan: Dushyant Singh

As Rajasthan is set to vote for its 200-member Assembly on November 25, political leaders have begun moulding public opinion. Dushyant Singh, MP, and son of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, shared his opinion about the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prospects in the upcoming Assembly polls in the state, in an exclusive interview with NewsX. Excerpts:
Q: Now that the state elections are fast approaching, how do you rate the BJP’s prospects of defeating the ruling Congress?
A: I have travelled across Rajasthan for electioneering and during interaction with common people, I have realised that they are quite confident of a BJP victory in the state as they have shown disappointment with the ruling party under the leadership of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. In such a scenario, BJP is going to form the next government in the state.
Q: But the Congress is saying that it is going to form the next government in the state because it has done a lot of developmental works in the state. What to you have to say about this?
A: Congress has always bragged about its work, but the reality is something else. After five years of their rule, people have realised that they have been finally cheated. Corruption has reached every echelon of the government. The ruling party failed to act decisively in the paper leak case. Farmers’ debts were not waived and electricity supply, promised during the last elections, was not met. Thus, the government failed on all fronts.
Q: What about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s impact this time?
A: There remains no doubt that he is the number one leader of the party and the country. People of Rajasthan and the country have tremendous faith in him because he has delivered a lot during his more than nine years of government. He showed his charisma during the Covid pandemic.
