Indian security forces successfully prevented an infiltration attempt in the Machhal sector of Kupwara, North Kashmir. The operation resulted in the death of two terrorists on Monday.
According to Jagran sources, army personnel patrolling the LoC noticed a group of armed individuals trying to cross into Indian territory from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir around 7 pm. Troops immediately alerted nearby posts and strengthened their positions.
As the infiltrators advanced, the soldiers challenged them. The terrorists tried to flee and opened fire to distract the army, prompting a retaliatory response. Sources reported that intermittent firing continued for nearly 40 minutes. After the firing from the terrorists ceased, the soldiers also stopped their fire. Jawans conducted a thorough search operation in the area where the exchange had taken place. Firing activity reportedly continued late into the night as the search progressed. The successful operation highlights the vigilance and preparedness of Indian troops deployed along the LoC in North Kashmir.
