Light rain showers in parts of Delhi

Light rains were reported in parts of the national capital, including central and south Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Noida, on the 77th Independence Day, bringing respite from the hot and humid weather.
Parts of Shahdara, East and Central, South East Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida, and parts of Faridabad may receive moderate to heavy showers, the weather office said on Tuesday.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 27.1 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, a notch above the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The relative humidity was 85 per cent at 8:30 am, the IMD said in a bulletin.
The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 35 degrees Celsius, it said.
The city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 102 at 9 am, according to the Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) data.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100’satisfactory’, 101 and 200’moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400’very poor’, and 401 and 500’
severe’.
