Lakhimpur Kheri violence case: Ashish Mishra is permitted to visit his ill mother on condition by the Supreme Court

Ashish Mishra was given permission by the Supreme Court on Tuesday to travel to Delhi to care for his ailing mother, subject to the requirement that he refrain from speaking to the media about, among other things, the ongoing Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.
Ashish Mishra was granted interim bail by a bench of justices Surya Kant and Dipankar Datta, although the prior judgment was changed to include travel restrictions.
Ashish Mishra was not allowed to enter the Delhi NCT, but the high court lifted the stay on Tuesday and ordered him not to participate in any public events or speak to the media about the matter. The temporary bail is extended by the court until further order.

Ashish Mishra has asked the Supreme Court to overturn an earlier ruling that barred him from traveling to Delhi NCT. The top court today gave him permission to go to the hospital in Delhi to care for his ailing mother and to obtain his daughter’s medical care.
Ashish Mishra was given temporary bail by the highest court on January 25 with a number of restrictions. Later, it was occasionally extended.
Ashish Mishra was given the instruction by the Supreme Court not to reside in the state of Uttar Pradesh or the National Capital Territory of Delhi throughout the eight-week duration of his interim release.
