An unverified CCTV clip has surfaced showing the two-wheeler involved in the deadly Kurnool bus accident entering a petrol station just minutes before the tragic crash that killed 20 people, including the biker. The footage has circulated widely on social media, but police have not confirmed its authenticity.
Biker Identified, Possible Alcohol Influence
The deceased rider has been identified as Shivasankar. Some social media posts claim that the CCTV footage shows him under the influence of alcohol at the petrol pump. The clip, timestamped 2:22 am on October 24, shows two men on the motorcycle. One of them is later seen pushing the bike before riding off, briefly losing balance due to sudden acceleration but regaining control.

Authorities have yet to verify the footage, and the authenticity remains unconfirmed. However, the timing aligns with police reports, which stated the bus accident occurred around 2:30–3:00 am on Friday.
Case Registered Against Bus Drivers
Following the tragedy, the Ulindakonda Police in Kurnool registered a case of negligence and overspeed against the two drivers of the Bengaluru-bound private bus, according to PTI. The complaint was filed by survivor N Ramesh.
The bus reportedly caught fire after colliding with a motorcycle in the early hours of Friday. Reports suggest the fuel cap of the two-wheeler was open at the time of the collision, contributing to the intensity of the blaze.
Conflicting Statements From Bus Drivers
The second bus driver, Siva Narayana, initially stated that the bus hit the motorcycle amid heavy rain that had reduced visibility. He later revised his statement, claiming that the bike and rider were already lying on the road due to a “previous accident.” According to the Indian Express, he said that the first driver, Lakshmaiah, drove over them unknowingly, which triggered the fire.
Investigation Continues
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash, including verifying the CCTV footage and determining the exact role of alcohol, speed, and weather conditions in the accident. Authorities are also examining the sequence of events leading up to the collision to establish accountability for this tragic incident.
