NEW DELHI: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Tuesday that the central government remains open to suggestions from all political parties ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament.
Rijiju’s remarks come after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired an all-party meeting today ahead of the budget session, which will begin on January 28 and run until April 2.
Rijiju also said that discussions must adhere strictly to established parliamentary rules.
Speaking to reporters after an all-party meeting, Rijiju said, “As per the rules, the discussions should revolve around the Budget only. The President will address the joint session of the Parliament at the beginning of the Budget session. After that motion on vote of thanks on the President’s speech will held where all parties will participate. The government will always be happy to hear any suggestions.”
“The government is always ready to listen, but if every time the Opposition parties do hungama and not let the house function, then problem arises,” Kiren Rijiju told reporters. Further, TDP Parliamentary leader Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu said the party raised three national issues and five Andhra Pradesh-related issues after the all-party meeting.
