Delhi Assembly Elections counting is underway. The fight for the national capital is neck and neck between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). In this neck-and-neck race, supporters from all walks of life, such as the young ‘mufflerman’ and the ‘baby Kejriwal’ of Delhi, have come out to show their support. Avyan Tomar, who had hit the headlines once for dressing up as Arvind Kejriwal during the 2020 Delhi elections, is back and all grown up to support AAP before the results.
A young AAP supporter Avyan was spotted outside the former Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday morning, clad in a blue sweater with a white collar, a green jacket, and painted moustache mimicking the look of the leader in recent press conferences. According to Avyan’s father Rahul Tomar, visiting Kejriwal’s residence on results day has become a tradition for them.

Avyan’s journey as the AAP mascot began in 2020 when, at just four years old, he dressed in a red sweater, AAP cap, and signature muffler, gaining viral fame. His image, flashing victory signs, was shared by the AAP’s official social media account, calling him ‘mufflerman’. He was also invited to Kejriwal’s swearing-in ceremony. In 2022, Avyan dressed up as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the state elections, adding a turban and mustache to the muffler look.
AAP under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal is fighting for a successive term in Delhi that faces strong competition from BJP, which has been aiming to win the power in the city since more than two decades. BJP is taking lead with its proposal for Delhi and is accusing the ruling AAP of corruption and irregularities.
