Officials from the Bureau of Immigration detained Nasar on suspicion of being part of a network trafficking vulnerable individuals for organ harvesting. He was subsequently arrested under IPC Section 370 (human trafficking) and Section 19 (commercial dealings with human organs) of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act.
