Kejriwal’s Sharp Reaction to Pakistani Minister’s Endorsement of Election Post: ‘Take Care of Your Country’

Critiquing the former Pakistani minister Fawad Hussain’s commentary on India’s general elections, Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, remarked on the dire situation in Pakistan, advising Hussain to focus on his own country’s issues. Hussain, in response to Kejriwal’s voting post on X, expressed hopes for peace and harmony to prevail over hate and extremism.

Kejriwal retorted to Hussain’s sentiment, asserting that he and the people of India were fully capable of managing their internal affairs, dismissing the need for Hussain’s tweet. He underscored the challenging circumstances in Pakistan, urging Hussain to prioritize his own nation’s welfare. Kejriwal emphasized that India’s ongoing elections were an internal matter and stressed the country’s intolerance towards interference from prominent sponsors of terrorism.

Earlier in the day, Delhi CM Kejriwal, accompanied by his family, exercised their voting rights in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha polls. Post-voting, he articulated his vote as a stance against unemployment, inflation, and dictatorship. Kejriwal urged others to follow suit, highlighting his familial participation despite his mother’s illness preventing her from voting.

Simultaneously, voting proceeded across 58 parliamentary constituencies spanning six states and two Union Territories. Notably, all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and all ten seats in Haryana witnessed active voting. The electoral battleground in Delhi featured a tense competition between AAP and Congress, jointly challenging BJP, which dominated the capital’s Lok Sabha seats in the past two elections. Congress contested on three seats, while AAP vied for four, both parties forming part of the INDIA bloc.

The culmination of the Lok Sabha elections is slated for June 1 after the seventh phase of polls, encompassing 57 constituencies. Results are scheduled for declaration on June 4.
