Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of AAP, released the party’s manifesto ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections on Monday. The manifesto includes a series of promises aimed at benefiting Delhi’s residents, with a focus on jobs, women’s welfare, and free healthcare for the elderly.
Key Promises
Firstly, AAP promises guaranteed employment for the youth of Delhi. According to Kejriwal, job creation will be a top priority if the party comes to power. Additionally, the Mahila Samman Yojana will offer ₹2,100 per month to women, enhancing financial support for them. Moreover, for senior citizens, the Sanjeevani Yojana will provide free healthcare services.
Furthermore, the manifesto outlines that the party will waive outstanding water bills and ensure 24/7 access to clean drinking water for all households across Delhi.
Environment and Infrastructure
In terms of environmental promises, AAP pledges to clean the Yamuna River and transform Delhi’s roads into world-class infrastructure.
Support for Education and Financial Aid
Under the Babasaheb Ambedkar Scholarship Yojana, AAP has promised scholarships for SC and ST students to pursue higher studies abroad. Additionally, male students will benefit from free bus rides and 50% discounts on metro fares.
Moreover, the manifesto includes a promise of ₹18,000 monthly support for priests and Gurudwara Granthis. The party also extends free electricity and water benefits to tenants in Delhi.
Support for Auto and Cab Drivers
In addition, AAP plans to provide ₹1 lakh for daughters’ weddings and ₹10 lakh in insurance coverage for auto and cab drivers. The party has committed to addressing the financial needs of drivers and will also provide funds for security guards in Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs).
BJP’s Response
Meanwhile, the BJP recently released the third part of its manifesto, which promises ownership rights in 1,700 unauthorized colonies and vows to clean the Yamuna within three years. Additionally, BJP pledged ₹10 lakh in free medical treatment under the Ayushman Scheme, with ₹5 lakh provided by the Delhi government.
AAP Accuses BJP of Copying
In response, AAP accused the BJP of copying its policies. Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia stated that BJP’s promises were simply an “admission of defeat.” He further claimed that BJP’s pledges mirrored AAP’s strategies.
Kejriwal’s Confidence
Finally, Kejriwal confidently concluded the manifesto launch by emphasizing that AAP fulfills its guarantees, unlike other parties that fail to deliver on their promises.
