Kejriwal writes to PM Modi, to skive Niti Aayog meeting

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday saying he won’t be able to attend the Niti Aayog meeting over the Centre’s recent ordinance on control of services in Delhi.
The ordinance brought recently by the BJP-led central government has taken back elected Delhi government’s executive control over bureaucracy that was earlier given to it by the Supreme Court through its verdict on 11May.
Amid the ongoing tension between the centre and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is likely to boycott the eighth governing council meeting of NITI Aayog.
Mann in a note claimed that the central government has not been taking care of the interests of Punjab and therefore will be boycotting the meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair NITI Aayog’s eighth Governing Council meeting on 27 May.
“The centre has not been taking care of the interest of Punjab and until the issues are discussed and completed, there is no use in attending this meeting. This meeting is just a photo session, food supply remains if the ideas are not fulfilled in this meeting,” wrote CM Mann in a note.
