Several parts of Bengaluru are facing significant waterlogging issues as the city experiences heavy rainfall. The downpour has left many areas submerged, causing considerable disruptions to daily life.
On Monday, Bengaluru experienced significant chaos as heavy rainfall caused severe waterlogging and widespread traffic disruptions throughout the city. The downpour, which started late yesterday afternoon and persisted into the evening, left many areas submerged under knee-deep water. Low-lying regions, including several major residential zones, were particularly hard hit by the flooding.
Commuters experienced prolonged delays as traffic came to a standstill on major roads. Waterlogged streets made many routes impossible to pass, forcing drivers to navigate through heavy traffic, and causing delays and congestion.
The most affected areas by the flooding were Koramangala, MG Road, Indiranagar, and parts of Whitefield, among others. Local authorities promptly responded by issuing traffic advisories and assisting in clearing the flooded areas. Additionally, the city witnessed several trees being uprooted due to the heavy rainfall, particularly in the Mahadevapura area.
The heavy rainfall not only resulted in traffic chaos but also led to power outages in numerous areas across the city, thereby exacerbating the difficulties faced by residents who were already dealing with the aftermath of the downpour.
