Kangana Ranaut has been in the spotlight after her Mandi victory was challenged in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. On Thursday, the actor-politician shared a video of her first Parliamentary address on Instagram and X. The BJP MP discussed the ‘extinction’ of Himachal’s tribal music and folk art.
After thanking the honorable speaker for giving her the chance to speak in Parliament on behalf of the people of Mandi, Kangana stated in Hindi, “In Mandi, there are different art forms that are on the edge of extinction. In Himachal Pradesh, there is an indigenous building technique known as kath-kuni, which uses sheep skin to manufacture various types of clothing such as jackets, hats, shawls, and sweaters. These are valued in other nations, but they are becoming extinct in India. We should discuss what actions are being made to encourage this.”
“I would also like to add that the folk music of Himachal Pradesh, especially the tribal music from Spiti, Kinnaur and Bharmour, and their folk and art forms are also on the verge on extinction. So, what are we doing about them?” She also added
