Actor and BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, launched a sharp attack on Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, calling him a ‘daitya’ (monster) and stating that his downfall was due to his disrespect towards women.
“I expected such a bad failure of Uddhav Thackeray. We can identify who is a ‘devta (god)’ and who is a ‘daitya (monster)’ depending on if they respect women or work for their welfare,” Ranaut told reporters in Mumbai.
Her comments followed the BJP-led Mahayuti’s overwhelming win in Maharashtra. Ranaut recalled her previous confrontations with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, especially when the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished parts of her Bandra bungalow in 2020. “They demolished my home and verbally abused me,” she alleged, adding that such actions have consequences.
The Bombay High Court later ruled that the BMC’s demolition was “malafide” and directed that she be compensated.

Ranaut also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership after the Mahayuti’s triumph, calling him ‘invincible’ and a leader destined for the country’s “salvation.” She emphasized the lesson the election results taught those “talking about breaking the country.”
“During campaigning, I saw every child chanting ‘Modi-Modi’. Prime Minister Modi is the tallest leader in the world. The BJP is a brand, and today, the people of India believe in the brand,” Ranaut added.
The Mahayuti alliance secured 233 out of 288 seats in Maharashtra, a decisive win that left the opposition MVA with just 49 seats.
