Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday shared a cryptic post on social media platform X, saying he is “optimistic” about “something positive” for the union territory during the monsoon session in the Parliament.
“I’ve heard every possible permutation & combination about what to expect in J&K tomorrow so let me stick my neck out and say nothing will happen tomorrow – fortunately nothing bad will happen but unfortunately nothing positive will happen either. I’m still optimistic about something positive for J&K in this monsoon session of Parliament but not tomorrow,” he wrote on X.

Gut Feeling Over Insider Information
The chief minister further stated that though he hasn’t talked to any leaders in Delhi, he discussed his “gut feeling” on what can be anticipated during the August 5 session.

Though it was not certain about what Omar Abdullah was commenting on, his tweet comes amidst speculation regarding the return of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.
Modi-Shah’s Visit to President Raises Eyebrows
The buzz was attributed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. Hours later, Home minister Amit Shah too met the President one-on-one. The details of the meeting were not shared with the public or media persons.
On 5 August 2019, Home Minister Amit Shah declared that the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and autonomy extended to the Indian state under Article 370 was abrogated.

Omar Returns as Chief Minister Post Elections
Years since the abrogation of Article 370, the Election Commission of India held the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, which saw the National Conference and Congress alliance emerging victorious in the union territory. After this victory, Omar Abdullah was appointed the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
