Jubilee Hills Telangana By-Election 2025: Voting on Nov 11, results on Nov 14.
Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency is located in the Hyderabad district of Telangana and falls under the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency. It is a general, non-reserved seat, Constituency No. 61.
This seat fell vacant due to the death of the sitting MLA, Maganti Gopinath. Thus, a by-election was required in 2025. It lies in a semi-urban zone of Hyderabad, where urban voters, ex-servicemen, govt. employees, traders and rural fringe populations co-exist.
The by-election in Jubilee Hills will be held on 11 November 2025, and the results will be declared on 14 November 2025. The Election Commission of India declared the schedule for the Jubilee Hills constituency in this by-election round.
In the 2023 Assembly elections, Maganti Gopinath of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi emerged victorious from Jubilee Hills, receiving 80,549 votes. He defeated Mohammed Azharuddin of INC, giving a margin of 16,337 votes.
The unfortunate death of Maganti Gopinath in 2025 became the reason for the present by-election, making it a prestige battle for the BJP and a challenge for the opposition.
Maganti Gopinath was a senior Telangana politician and a prominent leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He represented the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency in Hyderabad 3 times and was considered one of the key urban faces of the party. He was first elected as MLA in 2014, retained his seat in 2018, and won again in 2023, serving three consecutive terms.
Maganti Gopinath was known for his strong connection with the people and was focused on urban infrastructure, civic issues, and welfare schemes in areas like Yousufguda, Borabanda, and Shaikpet. His passing created a significant political void in Jubilee Hills, Telangana's urban leadership, setting the stage for a high-stakes by-election in the constituency.
The sitting MLA of Jubilee Hills before the 2025 by-election was Maganti Gopinath from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He had won the 2023 Telangana Assembly Election from the Jubilee Hills constituency, securing his third consecutive term as MLA.
Maganti Gopinath was a strong urban leader in Hyderabad and a close aide of K. T. Rama Rao (KTR). His sudden death in June 2025 led to the Jubilee Hills by-election, which the Election Commission scheduled for November 2025 to fill the vacant seat.
