JP Nadda: Manifesto reflects what founding fathers of BJP envisioned

As the BJP unveiled its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, party national president JP Nadda addressed a gathering of leaders at the party headquarters in the national capital, emphasizing that the manifesto reflects the vision of the BJP’s founding fathers for the country.

Nadda stated, “Our manifesto reflects what the founding fathers of the BJP had envisioned for the country.” He highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s articulation of this vision as “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” which he described as a simplification for the common man to understand.

Nadda criticized the Congress party for what he called “politics for vote bank,” accusing Congress lawyers of obstructing the judicial process for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He stated, “They did vote bank politics and kept creating obstacles but under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, a grand Ram temple was built.”

Regarding the achievements of the ruling government, Nadda mentioned the construction of four crore houses under the PM Awas Yojana, with 55.5% of Jan Dhan accounts opened in the name of women. He also noted the distribution of over 10 crore gas cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme and the construction of more than 11 crore Izzat Ghars across the country. Additionally, he highlighted infrastructure development, stating that “60,000 new villages have been connected with pucca roads.”

Nadda praised PM Modi’s leadership, stating that “25 crore people in India have risen above the poverty line” under his governance. He also mentioned the connectivity of “1.2 lakh panchayats with optical fibre,” providing internet facilities to rural areas, and cited the International Monetary Fund’s acknowledgment that “extreme poverty in India has reduced to less than 1%.”

He paid tribute to Dr. BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, noting his fight for social justice and affirming the BJP’s commitment to the same cause.

The Lok Sabha polls are scheduled from April 19, 2024, to June 1, 2024, across seven phases, with 970 million individuals eligible to vote. These elections will coincide with legislative assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim, along with by-elections for 35 seats across 16 states.
