Kashmir: In a strong assertion of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s ethos, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Vijay Kumar emphasized the force’s unwavering commitment to professionalism, impartiality, and apolitical service. Addressing reporters on Wednesday, Kumar highlighted the police’s dedication to maintaining law and order without succumbing to external pressures or political biases.

The remarks by Kumar, as reported by The Daily Guardian, come amidst a backdrop of criticisms and allegations directed towards the police, particularly involving the Director General of Police (DGP). The ADGP’s statement aims to reassure the public of the force’s integrity and steadfast dedication to its duties.

“We are a professional and impartial force,” Kumar reiterated, adding that the J&K Police operate with a clear mandate to serve the community equitably and uphold the law with the utmost professionalism. During his visit to Zadibal, where he reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming 10th Muharram procession, Kumar stressed the importance of meticulous planning and coordination to ensure a peaceful and orderly event. “All arrangements are in place to ensure the peaceful conduct of Muharram processions,” he affirmed, demonstrating the police’s proactive approach in managing significant public gatherings.
