A group of Indian Youth Congress members staged a brief protest at an expo hall of the India AI Summit at New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam on Friday, following which around 10 people have been detained, claimed Delhi Police.
The IYC workers staged a protest at Bharat Mandapam the venue of the AI Impact Summit around 12.30 noon near Hall number five. The IYC workers held protest “shirtless protest” holding T-shirts printed with images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump along with slogans against the government and the India-U.S. deal.
The arrested accused have been identified as Krishna Hari, national secretary of Youth Congress from Bihar; Kundan Yadav, state secretary of Bihar; Ajay Kumar, state president of Uttar Pradesh; and Narasimha Yadav from Telangana, police said.
The Indian Youth Congress, in a statement shared on social media, claimed the demonstration was meant to protest issues including unemployment, inflation and concerns linked to the reported India-US trade engagement.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Pawan Khera, Gurdeep Singh Sappal and Supriya Shrinate backed the protest by the youth Congress workers.
Khera in a video statement fired salvos at Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, escalating the partisan clash.

Sappal, meanwhile, said that the IYC workers showed the anger that has been in the youths due to unemployment and bleak future ahead.
