The new integrated terminal building at Chennai Airport is expected to significantly enhance the airport’s passenger handling capacity. The government has stated that the addition of this terminal will increase the capacity from 23 million passengers per annum (MPPA) to 30 MPPA. The design of the terminal incorporates elements that reflect the local Tamil culture, including traditional features like the Kolam (a decorative art form), temples, and other elements that showcase the natural surroundings. These elements add a distinct and culturally rich ambiance to the terminal, creating a unique experience for passengers.
