INSPIRED BY PM MODI, EIGHTH EDITION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA 2022 WILL FEATURE SEVERAL FIRSTS

The 8th edition of the International Day of Yoga will feature several firsts, one of which is an innovative program called “Guardian Ring,” which will showcase the movement of the sun through the participation of people performing Yoga from various countries as the sun moves from east to west. It will be a fantastic Relay Yoga Streaming event that will be broadcast live on DD channels.

As part of the nation’s “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” 75 national-level iconic sites will host a mass CYP demonstration on 21 June, while respective states will host similar events at 75 important locations based on their selection.

The theme for the 8th edition of International Day of Yoga is “Yoga for Humanity.” The Ministry of Ayush has chosen this theme for the 8th International Day of Yoga 2022, which will be held on June 21, 2022, in India and around the world. Mysuru, Karnataka, will host the main event of the IDY 2022 demonstration.

In his “Maan Ki Baat” address, PM Narendra Modi announced the theme. The theme for this year’s IDY was chosen after much thought and consultation, and it accurately depicts how yoga helped humanity during the peak of the pandemic, and how it will continue to do so in the emerging post-covid geopolitical scenario by bringing people together through compassion, kindness, and building resilience among people all over the world. Shubham Kumar, working as PA to the minister of Ayush. stated that “Our Prime Minister has appropriately announced this year’s IDY theme as “Yoga for Humanity.” Yoga, as we all know, is a practice that brings happiness, health, and peace from within, as well as deepening a sense of continuous connection between one’s inner consciousness and the outside world. IDY 2022 will be successful in properly propagating this theme.

Special programs for especially abled people, transgender people, women, and children have been designed this year, focusing on Yoga for Humanity. Human values, which are a key component of Yoga education in schools, are also highlighted. This year, our villages/Gram Panchayats will see a large turnout as the Common Service Centres (CSCs) promote the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) for practice and training, and millions of villagers are expected to participate in the IDY 2022.
