India’s low-cost space, nuclear models gain global praise: Murmu

President Droupadi Murmu announced today that India’s approach to “high science at low cost” in the fields of space and nuclear science is earning international acclaim. Speaking at the 10th convocation of Guru Ghasidas Central University in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, President Murmu celebrated the country’s scientific community for overcoming obstacles and enhancing India’s global reputation.
“In the past, India faced international non-cooperation in these advanced sectors, but our scientists and engineers have turned the tide,” said President Murmu. She highlighted the Chandrayaan mission as a testament to India’s resilience and dedication. “Our flag has now reached the Moon, reflecting the energy of Shivshakti on its surface,” she added.
The President urged universities to foster a scientific temperament by organising knowledge programs focused on India’s recent achievements in space and nuclear science. “Countries leading in science and technology will be the ones to advance,” she stated, praising Guru Ghasidas Central University for establishing modern labs on its campus.
The convocation ceremony was also attended by Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Earlier in the day, President Murmu visited the Maa Mahamaya temple in Ratanpur and is slated to meet delegates from vulnerable tribal groups later in Raipur.
President Murmu’s comments come during her two-day visit to the state, which began with her attendance at the state-level launch of ‘Year of Positive Change-2023,’ organised by Brahma Kumaris in Raipur.
