The Indian Army has successfully rescued the final group of 150 tourists who were stranded in the rain-hit region of North Sikkim. The rescue operation, carried out by the Trishakti Corps, marks the end of an extensive mission to assist the civil administration and local population in the evacuation efforts.

Since the heavy rains on June 12-13, around 1200 tourists found themselves trapped in the affected areas. The relentless efforts of the Indian Army have been instrumental in ensuring the safety and evacuation of all these tourists. Over the past week, the Trishakti Corps has been tirelessly coordinating with the local authorities, navigating challenging weather conditions and difficult terrain to reach those in need.

The rescue operations highlight the army’s dedication and swift response in times of crisis. The rescued tourists expressed their immense gratitude towards the army for their timely and effective intervention.
