This is part of his Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) vision. The appeal comes at a time when US President Donald Trump has put new tariffs on India and raised the H1-B visa fee to $100,000.

Arattai, made by Zoho Corporation, is India’s version of WhatsApp. It has group chats, media sharing, and end-to-end encryption. The app is more secure because it makes use of Indian servers. The question is whether users will switch from WhatsApp for Arattai.

Mappls, from MapmyIndia, is a desi option for Google Maps. It displays local information, precise directions, and real-time traffic. It is beneficial for India's varied roadways because it may be used in both cities and villages.
Zoho Writer is a cloud-based writing app like Microsoft Word. It lets people write, edit, and collaborate on documents. It also connects well with other Zoho tools and is already popular among Indian businesses.
Zoho Sheet is India’s answer to Microsoft Excel. It helps with data analysis, charts, and teamwork in real time. It is useful for both personal and office work.

PM Modi’s push is not only about changing apps. The goal is for India to become digitally independent. Additionally, it reduces India's reliance on foreign tech firms and grants it greater authority over its digital destiny.
