As is the tradition every year, India News is once again hosting the country’s largest political platform this year. This event is taking place at the NDMC Convention Center in Delhi. The program, which commenced on December 13, concludes today (December 15), marking the final and third day of India News Manch 2023. Today, on the stage, the renowned film director Abhishek Kapoor graced the event, where he shared some fresh insights about the world of cinema.
As soon as he took the stage, director Abhishek Kapoor, while expressing his thoughts, said that every film is not made for entertainment; as directors, we make films to bring about social change, especially in the context of transgender issues. Alongside this, he mentioned that he hadn’t seen Sushant Singh’s work before casting him. Sushant was quite dynamic. A prominent actor had initially refused to do the film with him. Then, an audition was conducted.
Alongside this, Kapoor spoke about Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani, saying that these are young children but hardworking. They have to undergo training. It is noteworthy that Rasha is working in his upcoming film. Additionally, he mentioned that after doing six or seven films, he realized that he is not cut out for it. Ekta offered me a television serial. But I got scared. I walked into darkness. Then I started writing for films. I was very happy after doing the first film, Aryan, although it didn’t perform well at the box office.
Moreover, speaking about censorship, we have the freedom to express ourselves. But when the censor board imposes restrictions, Bollywood cries foul, claiming an attack on our freedom. Such elements exist in society. This is just a film. Films are a reflection of society. I often try to do something new. There is always an attempt to bring something new with every film. That’s why one has to work hard again and again.
