India-Funded Schools Inaugurated In Nepal’s Dang District

In a significant stride towards bolstering educational infrastructure in Nepal, two schools constructed with financial assistance from the Indian government under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ program were inaugurated in Dang district. The ceremonial unveiling witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including government officials, embassy representatives, and political leaders, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the two nations in advancing education.

The Shree Bal Janata Secondary School, situated in Lamahi Municipality, and the Shree Padmodaya Public Model Secondary School, located in Ghorahi Sub Metropolitan City, stand as tangible symbols of the enduring partnership between India and Nepal. These educational institutions were meticulously built with Indian funding, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering academic excellence and empowering the youth.

At a tendered cost of NRs. 17.60 million, the School building of Shree Bal Janata Secondary School serves as a testament to India’s dedication to uplifting educational standards in Nepal. Similarly, the School Building of Shree Padmodaya Public Model Secondary School, constructed at a cost of NRs. 28.70 million, underscores the collaborative spirit between the two neighboring countries in promoting educational development.

Implemented under the High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) agreement, these initiatives exemplify the synergistic efforts aimed at enhancing access to quality education and creating a conducive learning environment. The projects, overseen by the District Coordination Committee in Dang, mark a significant milestone in the longstanding cooperation between India and Nepal.

Furthermore, the presence of political representatives, government officials, social workers, school management representatives, teachers, parents, and students at the inauguration ceremony underscores the collective commitment to advancing education. Their collective endeavor is poised to enrich the educational landscape in Dang district, fostering holistic development and empowering future generations.

Since 2003, India has undertaken over 551 HICDPs across Nepal, spanning various sectors, and has successfully completed 490 projects. Lumbini Province alone has witnessed the implementation of 61 projects, including six in Dang district, underscoring India’s unwavering support for Nepal’s socio-economic development.

Additionally, India’s benevolent gesture of gifting 1009 ambulances and 300 school buses to various healthcare and educational institutions in Nepal reflects the depth of bilateral cooperation and solidarity between the two nations. As close neighbors, India and Nepal continue to strengthen their multifaceted partnership, with a particular focus on bolstering educational infrastructure and fostering inclusive growth.
