Independence Day 2024: Step-By-Step Guide To Booking Tickets For Red Fort Event Online

India will celebrate its 78th Independence Day on Thursday, August 15, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisting the national flag at the Red Fort at 7:30 am. For those interested in attending one of the nation’s most significant events at the Red Fort in New Delhi, the process is straightforward.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online through the official website at aamantran.mod.gov.in. It is advisable to buy your tickets in advance if you plan to attend. Three types of tickets will be available online, and they will be released two days before the event.

The ticket categories are priced at Rs 20, Rs 100, and Rs 500 per person, depending on the type of ticket you select.

To book tickets for the Independence Day 2024 event at the Red Fort online, follow these steps:

  • Visit the official website at aamantran.mod.gov.in.
  • On the homepage, find and click the ‘Online Ticket Booking for Independence Day 2024’ link.
  • When the new page opens, fill in the required information such as your name, phone number, and the number of tickets needed.
  • Upload the necessary documents for verification.
  • Select the number of tickets and the desired category.
  • Complete the payment process for the tickets.

  • On Independence Day, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will operate according to a special schedule, with services beginning at 4 am on all lines from all terminal stations.

In anticipation of the Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Police has ramped up security by deploying over 10,000 police personnel, more than 3,000 traffic police officers, and 700 AI-based facial recognition cameras throughout New Delhi. Additionally, police and paramilitary forces have been stationed at key locations, including IGI Airport, railway stations, bus stops, malls, and markets.
