
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued several weather alerts for Sunday. A red alert has been issued for East Rajasthan, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected. Other states like West Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi may also see heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds.
The IMD has warned people to be on the lookout for flooding, waterlogging, and damage in several areas due to heavy rainfall.
East Rajasthan is under a red alert, which is the highest warning level. It indicates that there may be significant threats to life and property, as well a the likelihood of extremely heavy rain.
West Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and East Madhya Pradesh are under an orange alert. Rainfall is predicted to be widespread in several states, with some areas possibly receiving extremely high levels of precipitation.

Some parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Gujarat may also get heavy showers. The IMD has advised local authorities to prepare for waterlogging, blocked roads, and flooding in low-lying areas.
A yellow alert has been issued for many regions across India. These include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and West Bengal.
These areas are likely to see light to moderate rain, with some places getting heavy showers. A yellow alert means the weather may cause minor disruptions, and people should stay cautious about sudden changes.
The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in many parts of the country. These conditions are likely in isolated areas of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, and West Madhya Pradesh.

Scattered thunderstorms with lightning may also occur in Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, and Meghalaya. People in these regions have been advised to stay indoors during storms and avoid open spaces.
Delhi has been placed under a yellow alert. The city will have a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain in several areas. Some places may experience short but intense spells of rain.
The maximum temperature in the capital is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will likely stay between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rainfall hit parts of Kishtwar district on Sunday morning. The Padder region faced continuous downpours, raising concerns in areas still recovering from a deadly cloudburst in Chasoti village.

In Kathua district, heavy rain caused the Sahar Khad river to overflow. The rising water damaged a bridge near Logate Mor on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, disrupting traffic and causing inconvenience to travelers.
With alerts in place across many states, the IMD has asked people and authorities to remain careful. The rainfall may bring relief from summer heat but also creates risks of floods, landslides, and damage to infrastructure.
