A training aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed near Tambaram in Chennai’s Chengalpattu district on Friday. The ‘Pilatus PC-7’ was on a routine training sortie when it went down. The pilot managed to escape after ejecting safely, officials said.

Local residents rushed to the spot after hearing the crash. News agency PTI shared a video showing debris scattered across the area while people gathered around the wreckage. Emergency teams reached the location and started securing the site.

Initial reports suggest the aircraft experienced a technical issue, but officials have not confirmed the cause. A court of inquiry will investigate the incident.

This is a developing story, and more updates are expected soon.
