Security teams at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad were on high alert late Sunday after the airport received multiple bomb threat emails targeting three flights. The scary messages arrived just before the planes were due to land, making it the third such incident at the airport in less than a week.
Three Flights Land Safely Despite Scare at Hyderabad Airport
Fortunately, officials have confirmed that all three flights landed safely and without any problems, despite the alarming threats. The targeted flights included two major international services: British Airways flight BA 277 arriving from London Heathrow and Lufthansa flight LH 752 from Frankfurt, Germany. The domestic flight involved was IndiGo flight 6E 7178, traveling from Kannur.
Airport sources said the international planes touched down in the early hours of Monday, with the domestic flight also completing its journey successfully. Thorough searches were conducted, and the threats were ultimately found to be false alarms.

Hyderabad Bomb Threat: Highlights a Disturbing Pattern
This latest scare highlights a disturbing pattern. Just days earlier, the same airport faced two other similar incidents. In those cases, bomb threats were made against an Emirates service from Dubai and two IndiGo flights coming from Madinah and Sharjah.
Those previous incidents led to serious disruptions. The IndiGo flight from Sharjah had to be diverted to Mumbai, while the one from Madinah was forced to make an emergency landing in Ahmedabad.
The repeated threats come at a challenging time for one of the airlines involved, IndiGo. The company is currently working hard to fix major operational issues that have plagued its schedules. After cancelling around 1,500 flights recently, the airline is striving for stability and hopes to operate 1,650 flights today.
Authorities Investigate Email Source as Airlines Face Operational Strain
Authorities are now investigating the source of the recent bomb threat emails. These repeated hoaxes are a serious concern, wasting valuable time and resources while causing major anxiety for passengers and flight crew across multiple airlines. The focus remains on ensuring passenger safety and catching those responsible for the malicious messages.
