Howrah-Mumbai Express Train’s 14 Coaches Derail in Jharkhand; 6 Injured

In the early hours of Tuesday, a Howrah-Mumbai passenger train derailed, causing minor injuries to at least five to six people. The incident occurred around 3:43 am near Jharkhand’s Chakradharpur division, specifically between Rajkharswan West Outer and Barabamboo.

According to initial reports, 14 coaches of the train were derailed. Railway officials stated that the derailment happened after a goods train coming from the opposite direction derailed and impacted the passenger train. Despite the derailment involving 14 coaches, the Railways are not categorizing the incident as major.

All injured passengers received first aid. A further investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
