Following is a step-by-step procedure to correct your PAN card online:

Step 1: Go to the Official Portal

Go to the NSDL or UTIITSL website for PAN services. For NSDL, visit https://www.tin-nsdl.com or https://www.proteantech.in. For UTIITSL, visit https://www.utiitsl.com.

Step 2: Choose 'Apply for Change/Correction of PAN Data'

Choose the appropriate option for PAN card change or correction application. You will be taken to a form where you have to enter your existing information and what needs to be corrected.

Step 3: Complete the Form

Enter your PAN number, name, date of birth, address, or other information to be corrected. Ensure what you enter is correct according to your supporting documents.

Step 4: Upload Supporting Documents

Upload scanned copies of required proof for correction, like Aadhaar, PAN card, passport, or driving license, based on the type of change sought.

Step 5: Select Verification Method

You can authenticate your identity using OTP on your registered mobile number or by Aadhaar e-KYC/e-Sign if connected. Carefully follow the on-screen directions.

Step 6: Pay Fee

Pay the payment due for the correction process through credit/debit card, net banking, or other online payment modes made available. The fee is generally minimal.

Step 7: Submit and Track Application

Once submitted, you will get an acknowledgment with a Request ID. You can use this to view the status of your correction request online.

  • The corrected PAN card will be sent to your registered address within 10-15 working days.
