The country’s newest Olympic gold medalist, Neeraj Chopra, has tied the knot in an intimate ceremony with Himani Mor, a Ladsoli girl from Haryana’s Sonipat district. Immediately after tying the knot, Neeraj has taken to social media to seek blessings from around the world.
Dainik Bhaskar reported that the marriage of Neeraj and Himani took place without any dowry and gifts, which include clothes and other goods. Himani’s father Chandram Mor and mother Meena asserted that the marriage had taken place with a nominal dowry of Rs 1. The wedding was in the traditional attire of Haryanvi, as the men wore dhoti-kurtas and women were dressed in Ghaghra, Daman, and Kanthi. The wedding took place in Himachal Pradesh.
January 14: ring ceremony, haldi on 15th followed by mehndi and DJ night; and the main event was set to take place on January 16. She got married at a small, close-knit gathering of around 60 relatives and family friends. All in all, all this elaborate planning kept the cameras at bay except on the actual wedding day.
Meena Mor, Himani’s mother, thanked God for the fact that her daughter had been married to the pride of the country, Neeraj Chopra. She also added that Neeraj and Himani were known to each other, and the families had agreed to the marriage. However, the wedding preparations were limited by the holiday leave that Himani had.
