Trump real estate in India has grown rapidly since Donald Trump’s presidency began in 2016, while Trump did not sign any new real estate deals in India during his time in office due to conflict-of-interest concerns, his existing licensing agreements continued to flourish. As a result, four Trump Towers have now been launched across the country, making India the biggest market for Trump-branded real estate outside North America.
India Becomes a Key Market
Trump’s business presence in India dates back to before his presidency. However, most of the expansion has occurred after he entered the White House. Despite stepping away from day-to-day management of the Trump Organization during his presidency, the brand’s partners in India carried forward the projects already licensed under the Trump name.

India now hosts four Trump Towers — located in Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Gurugram and this makes India the only country outside the US to have this many Trump-branded residential projects. The developments reflect both India’s booming luxury housing market and the continued brand appeal of the Trump name among elite buyers.
No New Deals, Yet Continued Growth
During Trump’s presidency, his organization made headlines by vowing not to pursue foreign business deals to avoid ethical violations but however, the licensing agreements already signed before 2016 faced no such restrictions. These projects moved ahead, with local Indian developers leveraging the Trump brand to drive premium pricing and buyer interest.

Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, visited India many times to oversee and promote the properties where they played a major role in maintaining momentum for the brand and these visits sparked both interest and controversy, especially as they occurred during their father’s presidency.
Indian Market Still Key for Trump Brand
Even post-presidency, India remains a critical market for the Trump Organization and the success of the four towers highlights the brand’s viability in high-end real estate. Developers in India continue to associate the Trump name with exclusivity, luxury, and aspirational living.
Trump’s footprint in India may grow further in the future but however, as of now, the focus remains on delivering and marketing the existing properties — all of which cater to the luxury segment of India’s urban housing market.
