Historic Mandate : PM Modi Celebrates Mahayuti Alliance’s Landslide Victory In Maharashtra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Maharashtra Assembly election results on Saturday, describing them as a monumental triumph for “development and good governance.” The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar-led NCP, is on track to secure a commanding majority in the state as vote counting continues.

“Development wins! Good governance wins! United we will soar even higher! Heartfelt gratitude to my sisters and brothers of Maharashtra, especially the youth and women of the state, for a historic mandate to the NDA. This affection and warmth is unparalleled. I assure the people that our Alliance will keep working for Maharashtra’s progress. Jai Maharashtra!” Modi wrote on X.

The BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP alliance is projected to win nearly three-fourths of the 288 seats in the Assembly. According to the Election Commission’s figures, the coalition is expected to claim 233 seats, while the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi trails significantly, leading in just 50 constituencies.

In addition, Modi congratulated the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led alliance on its victory in Jharkhand and reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to addressing regional concerns. He expressed gratitude to voters for supporting NDA candidates in various bypolls, pledging to meet their expectations. “I am proud of each NDA Karyakarta for their grassroots efforts. They worked hard, went among people and elaborated on our good governance agenda,” he added.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections for 288 seats were held in a single phase on November 20. The BJP contested 148 seats, Shiv Sena 80, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP fielded candidates in 53. The remaining seats were shared among smaller alliance partners.
