A high alert has been sounded along the strategic Pathankot–Baramulla railway corridor following a blast in Patiala that left one person dead, prompting a swift and coordinated security response across multiple agencies.

According to initial information, the explosion in Patiala triggered concerns about the safety of key railway infrastructure in the northern region. While investigations into the cause and nature of the blast are ongoing, authorities have moved quickly to tighten security along the rail network that connects Punjab to Jammu and Kashmir.

Multiple teams from the Government Railway Police (GRP) wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with personnel from the Railway Protection Force, have been deployed to carry out extensive search operations. The checks are being conducted along the entire stretch from Pathankot to Srinagar, including vulnerable sections near Baramulla.

Security forces are undertaking rigorous track inspections, scanning surrounding areas, and maintaining a heightened vigil to rule out any potential threats. Railway officials described the operation as a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety of passengers and critical infrastructure.

Top sources in the Railways confirmed that additional troops have been deployed to reinforce the ongoing search operations. Surveillance has been intensified, and coordination between local police, railway authorities, and central forces has been stepped up.

Officials said the situation is being closely monitored, and further action will depend on findings from the ground as well as the progress of the investigation into the Patiala blast.
